EMC The Source Episode 55 She Likes Big DataBig Data has traditionally been about the 3 V’s: “Volume, Velocity & Variety”.  The concept of Big Data has taken on different meaning to different people.  While EMC provides tremendous value to our customers via infrastructure for Big Data, the real value isn’t necessarily the data itself but what you do with it.

This week Erin Banks (@banksek) joins us to talk the real value of Big Data – and it’s not the data, it’s what you can do with it – Data Analytics that lead to business results.

The EMC Taxonomy is designed to help our customers accelerate business results.  All based on EMC industry leading products, EMC Big Data Foundation, Systems and Solutions are designed with one goal in mind.  Find more at www.emc.com/bigdata

EMC The Source Podcast Episode #54 - AppSyncEnabling our customer Business Applications is at the heart of everything we do.  EMC AppSync is designed to simplify and automate the process of generating and consuming copies of production data.  By providing an abstraction layer between applications and underlying storage replication technology, AppSync simplifies the process or Application Replica creation.   This Integrated Copy Data Management (iCDM) tool provides an intelligent and simple to use interface that can provide application owners and VMware admins the ability to restore and clone their data, with or without leveraging the storage team.  The AppSync team recently released version 3.0 of the product, and Boaz Michaely ( AppSync Product Manager, gives us the details this week on EMC The Source Podcast.

EMC The Source Podcast #53 - The Other CI with Natalie Corridan-Gregg

Talk CI in the tech industry today, and most people think Converged Infrastructure, and rightfully so.  There is, however, a minority that immediately think Competitive Intelligence–the other CI.

While most associate Competitive Intelligence with Secret Agents and Espionage, that stereotype couldn’t be further from the truth.

In fact, there are professional organizations like SCIP “Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professional” dedicated to providing a platform for strategic intelligence, research decision-support tools process and analytics.

At EMC World 2016, Business Intelligence was a breakout session, the cross road of Competitive Intelligence and Market Intelligence.  That breakout session was in part delivered by Natalie Corridan-Gregg, Sr. Director of EMC Competitive Intelligence Team.  Natalie is also extremely active in EMC Women’s Leadership Forum (WLF), cofounder of Women of World and creator behind “The Working Mother Experience
